EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer)is used to manufacture the refill.
This compound is the choice of most of the world’s prestige car manufacturers, and for good reason:
• EPDM elastomer compound has been especially formulated to operate more
efficiently than other compounds, and to withstand the harsh environments to
which wiper refi lls are exposed every day – from intense UV and ozone, cold
and freezing temperatures, abrasion due to road grime and grit as well as
oils and chemicals.
• EPDMis a Terpolymer, a synthetic elastomer,known for its excellent resistance to heat (up to 120C), oxidation, ozone and UV weather aging due to its stable, saturated polymer backbone structure.
• EPDM provides very good resistance to polar solvents, such as water, phosphate esters (used in many oils & lubricants) and many ketones (such as acetone, used in many solvents) and alcohols.
• EPDM has high tensile and tear properties with excellent abrasion resistance.
• EPDM offers excellent low temperature fl exibility with glass transition points of approx. minus 50°C.
