Hi! Two days ago i changed the spark plugs on my 306 XSI 2.0 8v - 95
I accedently damaged a HT lead (low quality junk). The metal part connecting to the sparkplug slipped out and i had to bend it open and squeeze it onto the lead. Some of the insulation where ript of in the process and i taped the bare metal with inslution tape. This was of course very temporary just to get home as i was at a petrol station (they were out of the one ht lead i needed)
It worked lika a charm. Next day I replaced the damaged lead with a new one and drove perhaps 30 km. But as the other leads were old and low quality i decided to renew all of them.
Today I replaced the remaining three and drove ~ 200 meter and then the car jumped a bit and died. I could start the engine but it died almost instanly. I looked for badly connected leads but nothing seemed wrong so i decided to change back to the old leads apart from the damaged one. The car started and i drove perhaps 1 km and parked believing it was wrong or damaged leads that caused the problem.. but! some hours later i tried to start and same problem ocurs engine starts but dies within a second or 2
Ive looked for faulty wires but found none. what can be the problem? |
