Engine change Peugeot Partner 1.9D

Hi,

I have a wonderful Partner '01 1.9 Diesel than I drove more than 300.000 km in. The engine is not especially economic and very "tired" by now.

I am wondering if I could replace the engine with an HDI edition like the ones found in later models, without major problems.

If this is possible, I am considering to drive to France this summer and replace the engine with a new or refurbished model.

Any comments on this idea?
