I've got a 505 STI turbo diesel, 1985 model, and I have a few questions. May sound kind of dumb since peugeots are everwhere in Europe and over here they are few and far between, since the people that have them and like them tend to buy up all the broken ones for parts!
First off I need a couple of good pictures of the engine bay, mine has some aftermarket wiring and a few connectors that don't go anywhere, and I don't have another car to go look at! Also appears someone disconnected the wastegate off the turbo, and I have no idea where the line is supposed to go.
The tach does not work at all, however I have seen it move when connecting the battery, where is the tach signal driven from? is it off the alternator like it is on the VW diesels?
The ignition key is stuck in the ignition, is there any way to take the cylinder out and get the key out? I suspect the problem is with the pin that retains the key, which I don't too much care about but it is kind of annoying having the key just stay in the ignition. A new lock cylinder would be ideal but I haven't had any luck finding one here as of yet, and since they quit importing Peugeots here in 1991, most of the stocks of parts have dried up. |
