heres my 106 aztec, was in very poor condition when i got it, and been restoring it to its former glory recently still got loads of plans for it but heres the progress so far..
its had a new engine due to head damage and snapped valves, and a whole new standard interior beacause the old one was effected badly by oil and damp
got another bonnet the other day and been sanding it down and going to weld plates over the ribs to smooth it off..
next plan after the bonnet is to get a rear beam and get the crash damage fixed and painted
before i smoothed this out the whole wing was over the pasenger door :O all because of a snapped ball joint bolt remember and check these regualrly to save you the hassel i went through
i also have replaced the front suspention with that off a mk2 106, and replaced the rear dampers with g-max aftermarket ones...
and last weekend i installed the new sound system
and am waiting until i get the rear beam( and longer wheel nuts ) before i put these on ...
well basicaly thats the progress over the last 5 months, hopefully going to get it finished for my 17th birthday on the 20th of this month...but cant see it
will keep yous updated on the progress |

well heres the story now soooo close to MOT day
after the crash (wasnt me that crashed it! ) she was in a bit of a state, needed a new track rod end, seat mount welded and the wing sorted, so the new trak rod end is now on (doesn't look so new, they rust quick )
then out with the interior to fix the seat mount
can you see the hole?
and finaly the wing
then it was on to finishing the 4 stud conversion and after lots of faffin about trying to find a rear beam i found one covered in rust sanded all the rust off it and gave it a quick lick of the only paint i could find ...
only to find out the break pipes were totaly rotted away (big time ) so she got some new break pipeios!
and while i was there thought i might aswel just replace all the break pipes
then fitted the big beasty with some cheap ass Gmax dampers which are actualy really good
and now after sitting like this since before christmas
she's now on some standard xsi alloys and before anyone says anything i had just that second taken the jack away when i took the pics so never had a chance to settle, still needs dropped a click maybe anyways
so now whats left to do is get new calipers unless i can salvage these ones and bleed the breaks then off to the MOT woo! after 9 months
after the MOT got alot of things to get sorted, the wing obviously, drivers quarterpannel and finish off the new bonnet which is taking up a hell of alot of sandpaper
and that be the story over comments and opinions welcome ect ect :lo: |
